OBIT EANES, W. HOWARD
EANES, W. Howard, 64, of Bristol, died Friday, April 23, 1993, in the
Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Petersburg. Mr. Eanes had
been a newspaper reporter, copy editor, city editor, managing editor,
executive editor, corporate recruiter and journalism teacher. He was a former
employee of the Roanoke Times, serving as assistant managing editor 1965-69
and 1970-1973. He is survived by his wife, Andra Taylor Conley Eanes; two
daughters, Wanda E. Dunnigan of Pulaski, Va., Kathy Jo Eanes of Roanoke, Va.;
two sons, Clifford R. Eanes, and Richard L. Eanes, both of Roanoke, Va.; five
grandchildren, Heather and Brad Zollman, Matthew and Ryan Eanes, and Chris
Eanes. Funeral services for W. Howard Eanes will be held 3 p.m. Monday in the
Akard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Monk officiating. Entombment
will be in the Mountain View Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7
to 9 p.m. Sunday at Akard Funeral Home, Bristol, Tenn.
