`THE MIRACLE WORKER' ON AT BARTER TILL MAY 8

"The Miracle Worker," William Gibson's play about Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan, will ends its run at Barter Theatre on May 8.

It is performed for school groups on weekday mornings and for the public at 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays and 8:30 p.m. Saturdays.

With this production, Barter also launched its series of "talk-backs" on the first and last Thursdays of each run this year. The next after-performance discussion between the audience and cast will be May 6, after a special 8 p.m. performance.

Emily Loesser, who portrays the young Helen Keller, is the daughter of Frank Loesser, who wrote such musicals as "Guys and Dolls" and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and songs including "Heart and Soul," "Slow Boat to China" and "Baby, It's Cold Outside."

She and her husband, Don Stephenson, will play the romantic leads in Barter's next scheduled play, "Lend Me a Tenor."

Reservations can be made by calling 628-3991 or toll-free (800) 368-3240. - Southwest bureau
