BIDS SOUGHT TO VALUE CEMETERY FOR TAX SALE

Bids to appraise the value of Sunset Memory Gardens are being sought by the Wythe County treasurer's office as a preliminary step toward selling the cemetery for back taxes.

Treasurer Sam Crockett said it was his hope that a buyer would continue to upgrade the cemetery operation. It will be summer at least before a sale is held. - Southwest bureau
