PATRICIA SCHROEDER TO SPEAK AT COLLEGE

Patricia Schroeder, U.S. representative from Colorado, will speak on "Women in Leadership" at Sweet Briar College on May 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Babcock Auditorium.

Schroeder has been a leader of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party and been outspoken on such issues as foreign and military policy, constitutional rights and women's economic equity. She is dean of the Colorado congressional delegation and the most senior woman in Congress.

Schroeder sponsored the Family and Medical Leave Act and introduced a measure that would provide states with additional tools to enforce the collection of child support. She also is at the center of the national debate on the way the military treats women and homosexuals.
