About 300 students will attend the program at the Salem Civic Center. It will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until about 2 p.m.
The program, "Ethical Decision Making in the Workplace and Society," is designed so that school officials, parents and community and business leaders can work together to help young people define their values and ethics before going out into the working world.
Marty M. Woodward, an instructor in the Women's Center at Hollins College and an organizational and educational consultant, will direct the program. Woodward also has a son at Salem High.
Much of the five-hour program will divide students into small groups led by a business or community leader.
The program was created by the Missouri School and the Missouri Chamber of Commerce for use by businesses. It was adapted for schools by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
