BRANHAM EARNS 1ST MAJOR TITLE

George Branham III of Indianapolis earned his first major Professional Bowlers Association title Saturday by beating Parker Bohn III 227-214 in the finals of the Tournament of Champions at Fairlawn, Ohio.

After Branham, the top seed, defeated Bohn for his fourth career title, he added a "King of the Hill" victory when he knocked off Del Ballard Jr. 244-226.

The win, worth $60,000, was the highlight of Branham's nine-year career. After winning a pair of titles early in his career, Branham ended a six-year drought by winning in Baltimore earlier this year.
