BUCS CLUB FREDERICK 8-2

First baseman Ken Bonifay had three hits and drove in three runs as the Salem Buccaneers defeated the Frederick Keys 8-2 in a Carolina League baseball game Saturday.

Salem (6-7) broke open the game in the fourth inning, scoring four runs on six hits. The Bucs had five straight hits including Bonifay's two-run single to make it 4-2.

Mariano De los Santos pitched five innings for the win, allowing four hits and two runs. The right-hander gave up back-to-back solo home runs by Alex Ochoa and Brad Seitzer on consecutive pitches in the fourth inning.

Salem added three runs on four hits in the sixth inning. Third baseman Rich Juday had a two-run double and outfielder Trace Ragland added a one-run double.

Frederick dropped to 8-7.
