OBIT BECKNER, BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, ("POP")

BECKNER, Benjamin Franklin, ("Pop"), 78, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 24, 1993. Mr. Beckner was retired from Walker Foundry with 47 years service. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie D. and Carolyn Beckner, Danny L. and Mary Beckner, all of Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie L. and Ernest Campbell, Roanoke; a brother, Claude (Dink) Beckner, Front Royal; two sisters, Betty Gulledge, Hopewell, Elvie (Ollie) Snead, Vinton; also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at Franklin Memorial Park 2 p.m. Monday, April 26, 1993, with the Rev. Jacob A. Webb officiating. Friends may call at Lotz Roanoke Chapel noon through 9 p.m. Sunday.
