OBIT WADE, GRANVILLE WARREN

WADE, Granville Warren, 85, of Kannapolis, N. C., died Saturday, April 24, 1993, at his home after a serious illness of two months. He had been a resident of Kannapolis since moving here from Lexington, N. C. in 1941. He was born in Carroll County, Va. and was the son of the late Rev. John W. Wade and Ida C. Marshall Wade. He was a retired accountant having been employed with Widenhouse Motors, Concord, N. C. for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Kannapolis where he had served on the Board of Deacons, was general treasurer of the church and was a member of the Koinonia Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the Kannapolis Lions Club. He attended Ferrum Training School and National Business College in Roanoke, Va. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nell Mundy Wade; two brothers, Mr. George B. Wade, Concord, N. C., Mr. John E. Wade, Roanoke, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Irene) Howell, Roanoke, Va. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, 1993 at First Baptist Church, Kannapolis, N. C., with the Rev. Don McNair and the Rev. Ken Stutts officiating. Interment in the Denver United Methodist Church Cemetery, Denver, N. C. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family will be at the residence the remainder of the time. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 101 North Main Street, Kannapolis, N. C. 28081 or the Hospice of Cabarrus County, P.
