OBIT BUTTERWORTH, HARVEY EDWARD

BUTTERWORTH, Harvey Edward, 85, of Vinton, died Sunday, April 25, 1993. Mr. Butterworth was a veteran of World War II, a member of Vinton Baptist Church and was retired from the Comptroller's Office of Norfolk & Western Railway with 45 years service. He was preceded in death by his wives, Florence Caldwell Butterworth, and Virginia (Polly) Caldwell Butterworth. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Carol Butterworth, Vinton, Robert (Bob) and Kay Butterworth, Salem; a stepdaughter, Ruth Wilkerson, Roanoke; grandsons, Mark Butterworth, Vinton, Rob Wayne Butterworth II, Salem, stepgrandson, Brian Stone, Columbus, Ind.; two brothers, Eugene Herman Butterworth, Roanoke, Roy Butterworth, Vinton; a sister, Lorene B. Holdren, Vinton. Funeral services will be held at Vinton Baptist Church Tuesday, April 27 1 p.m. with Dr. William Ross, the Rev. David Elks, and the Rev. Kevin Meadows officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel after 1 p.m. Monday.
