OBIT WILLIAMS, CLOY EDWARD

WILLIAMS, Cloy Edward, 78, of Floyd, passed away Sunday, April 25, 1993, in a Roanoke hospital. He was a member and deacon of Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, a graduate of West Virginia Business College, a veteran of World War II having served in the army from 1942 to 1945 with overseas tour of duty in the Pacific Theater, including Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines. He was a charter member of the Floyd County Post Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was retired from the National Park Service having served twenty seven years at the Rocky Knob office. He was currently serving as chairman of the Officers of Election for the C-81 Precinct. Surviving are his wife, Reva Wade Williams, Floyd, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Willa Dean and William Upshaw, Salem, Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Willie and Estelle Williams, Roanoke, Va.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Oakley Bower, Christiansburg, Va., Anna and Cody F. Hale, Floyd, Va. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elbert Lee Naff officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
