OBIT PHIBBS, JAMES C. JR.

PHIBBS, James C. Jr., ("Jimmy"), 27, of Glade Spring, died Saturday, April 24, 1993 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was employed by Tri-City Security in Bristol and attended the North Bristol Baptist Church in Bristol. He is survived by his parents, James C. Phibbs Sr. and Mary Hurd Phibbs of Glade Spring; two sisters, Janet Phibbs and Julia Phibbs, of the home; one brother, Jeffery Phibbs of the home; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Kate Hurd, Glade Spring; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 1993 in the Farris Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eric Godfrey, Rev. John Surber and Rev. Albert J. Linville officiating. Burial will follow in the Baptist Cemetery in Glade Spring. Active pallbearers will be Milton Phibbs, Sam Phibbs Jr., Herbert Barbrow, Daryl Barr, Michael Yarber, Haynes Hayden Jr., and Roger Davidson. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Hawthorne, Kevin Freeman, Chuck Doane, Joe Warren and Employees of TRW of Atkins and Tri-City Security of Bristol. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home. Farris Funeral Service of Abingdon is in charge of arrangements.
