OBIT PARKS, WILLIAM MAYNARD

PARKS, William Maynard, 72, of Sugar Grove, died Sunday, April 25, 1993, in the Smyth County Community Hospital. He was retired from the Southwestern State Hospital and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4.6.6.7., the American Legion, and the Sugar Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Parks, Sugar Grove; one brother, Harry Parks, Northeast, Md.; four sisters, Arcie Noonkester, Marion, Bessie Anderson, Northeast, Md., Lucy Guiberson, Northeast, Md., Alice Cameron, Decator, Ill. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Sugar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutton Cemetery with military honors conducted by Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4.6.6.7. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Barnett's Marion Funeral Home. The body will be moved to the church one hour before services.
