7-YEAR-OLD ACCUSED OF SHOOTING AT BUS

A 7-year-old boy has been charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle after a BB rifle was fired at a school bus, knocking out a window.

"It's the youngest person I've ever arrested," Isle of Wight County Sheriff's Deputy John Croft said.

No one was injured in Monday's shooting, which occurred as a Smithfield High School bus was picking up students.

The 7-year-old was with a 15-year-old, who also was charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, officials said.

The boys, who were released to their parents' custody, are to be tried on the felony charges in May.
