OBIT BARNES, DOROTHY REMAINE

BARNES, Dorothy Remaine, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, April 27, 1993, in a local hospital. She was the charter president of the American Business Women's Association of the Shenandoah Chapter. She was a member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and the father of her children, Paul George Remaine. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Paul Remaine of Roanoke, daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. S. W. (`Vanetta') Stockton Jr. of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Mrs. Richard (Alice Dame) Le May III of Roanoke, Sherrill Worth (Swis) Stockton III of Jackson, Wyo., Christopher Paul Rudd Remaine of Roanoke; two sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn D. Mills, Pauline (Polly) and E.C. (`Pete')Carter, all of Roanoke; three brothers, Harry P. Dame of Richmond, James E. (Ed) Dame of Houma, La., Don E. Dame of Roanoke. Private graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Thomas F. Stocks in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roanoke City Public Library Foundation, 706 S. Jefferson Street, Roanoke, Va. 24016. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
