OBIT WHITE, L. JACK
WHITE, L. Jack, 87, of Christiansburg, died Monday, April 26, 1993, in
Radford Community Hospital. His residence was Roanoke Street. He was a charter
member of the Roanoke Chapter National Railroad Historical Society, member of
the National Railroad Historical Society, member of the Roanoke Banjo and
Fiddle Club. He was a retired employee of Hercules Locomotive Shop with 24
years and 9 months service. Surviving are his wife, Belle H. White; one
daughter and son-in-law, Lucille W. and James C. Dobbins, Christiansburg; two
sons and daughters-in-law, L. J. Jr. and Rosetta S. White, Christiansburg, Jim
and Teressa McNabb, Atlanta, Ga., grandchildren, Kathy D. Neff, Pat W. Huff,
Bruce E. White, Clay E. White, all of Christiansburg, Mark C. Dobbins,
Austell, Georgia, Tonya McNabb, Virginia Beach; two brothers and
sisters-in-law, Arthur and Inez White, Theodore and Thelma White, all of
Pulaski; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Frank Rogers, Pulaski, Catestie
("Sis") and Virgil Lawson, Salem; two other sister-in-laws, Ina A. White, Max
Meadows, Va., Mattie White, Wytheville; six great-grandchildren. Funeral
services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home
Chapel conducted by Rev. Monroe Hedrick with burial in Sunset Cemetery. The
family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening at the
Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
