3 ROAD CONTRACTS AWARDED FOR AREA

Three contracts for bridge repairs and road improvements in Carroll, Giles and Pulaski counties were awarded recently by the Commonwealth Transportation Board.

In Carroll, a contract to widen and pave the ramp from Virginia 148 to Interstate 77 was given to APAC-Virginia Inc. of Danville.

In Giles, repairs will be made to the U.S. 460 bridge over the New River at Glen Lyn by contractor Lanford Bros. Co. Inc. of Roanoke.

A damaged bridge in Pulaski County over Little Walker Creek will be replaced by L. J. Himes Welding of Victoria.

Statewide, the board awarded 53 contracts totaling $59.3 million.
