OBIT ARRINGTON, CLAUDINE ETHEL ABBOTT

ARRINGTON, Claudine Ethel Abbott, ("Connie"), 71, of Roanoke and Vinton, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 1993, in Community Hospital. She went to be with the Lord following a short illness. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Sonny and Bertie Arrington, Jan and Wanda Arrington, all of Vinton; two daughters and sons-and-law, Donna and Wayne Gilbert, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Kathy and Ralph Toler, Columbia, S.C. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Tracy Arrington, Roanoke, Tiffany Arrington, Vinton, Courtney Arrington, Vinton, Karen Toler, Columbia, S.C.; one grandson, Fred Toler, Columbia, S.C.; two great-granddaughters, Santana and Kristian Toler, Columbia, S.C.; two brothers and sister-in-Law, D.C. Abbott, Vinton, E.H. and Peggy Abbott, Stewartsville; one sister and brother-in-law, Vi and Mel Linkous, Roanoke; two half brothers, C.N. Abbott and B.W. Abbott, Roanoke; one half sister, Holly A. Chickler, Arlington; her stepmother, R.E. Abbott, Roanoke; also many nieces; nephews and friend, Dap Arrington. Connie loved people and received great pleasure from helping others. She was a member of Belmont Christian Church and was a retired employee of the Roanoke City Juvenile Detention Home. The funeral will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. May 1, 1993 from the Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton by the Rev. John E. Wallace. Interment will be at Barnhardt Baptist Church Cemetery, Stewartsville. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at the Lotz Vinton Chapel.
