OBIT TURNER, ARMESTEAD DUANE

TURNER, Armestead Duane, ("Monk"), 74, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, April 26, 1993. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter H. Turner. Survivors include his wife, Florine Walker Turner, Roanoke; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry Ann and Leonard Taylor, Penny Turner, Peggy and Clifford Bratton, all of Roanoke; his mother, Mamie Turner, Roanoke; one sister, E. Baylese Spencer, Roanoke; brothers and sister-in-law, James Wilbur Turner, Pomona, Calif., Walter C. (Doc) and Fannie Turner, Virginia Beach. Funeral services will be held Thursday 1 p.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. E.T. Burton will officiate with interment in the Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Sweet Union Baptist Church Building Fund in his honor.
