OBIT TYLER, WILLIAM OTEY
TYLER, William Otey, ("Jack"), 70, of Montvale, died Tuesday, April 27,
1993, at his residence. He was born September 25, 1922 in Bedford County, a
son of Anna Anderson Tyler, of Roanoke and the late James Lewis Tyler. He was
a retired employee of Jack Miller Plumbing Company, was a member of the Mt.
Zion Baptist Church, and was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in
death by a son, Bobby Tyler, one sister, Ruby T. Debusk, two brothers, Allen
Tyler and James L. Tyler Jr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his
wife, Estelle Nester Tyler; two sons, Samuel Nester, Blue Ridge, Tommy Tyler,
Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Faye Meador, Blue Ridge, Joyce Tyler, Montvale;
five brothers, Charles Tyler, Roanoke, John Tyler, Chicago, Ill., George
Tyler, Raymond Tyler, both of Blue Ridge, David Tyler, Bedford; four sisters,
Janie R. Jones, Betty Fox, Mary E. Webb, Elsie Wright, all of Roanoke; five
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted
Friday, April 30, 1993 at 11 a.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by
the Rev. Roy Whitescarver. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home,
Bedford.
