OBIT THOMPSON, NENA SCAGGS
THOMPSON, Nena Scaggs, 85, of Radford, died Wednesday, April 28, 1993, at
her home. She was the widow of O. W. Thompson. She was preceded in death by a
grandson, Michael Gallaher. She was a member of Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Glada T. Goodman of Defiance, Ohio, Mary Frances
Teany of Christiansburg; five daughters and sons-in-law, Elmalene and John
Duncan of Radford, Doris and Clark Crane of Lakeland, Fla., Phyllis and Jerry
Gallaher of Radford, Nancy and James Westmoreland of Galax, Judy and James
Helm of Midlothian; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronol and Helen Thompson of
Elliston, Robert (Bobby) and Patricia Thompson of Radford; eleven
grandchildren, Elmalene Jeffrey, Theresa Stafford, Sharon Teany, Paul Teany,
Jr., Mary Jane Housel, Randal Duncan, Carolyn Frerichs, Melissa Agner, Pamela
Ross, Amy Westmoreland, and Jennifer Helm; seven great-grandchildren; one half
sister, Nellie Barksdale of Salem also survives. Funeral services will be held
Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence
Dishman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park. The family
will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home in
Radford.
