SENIOR CITIZENS SEEK MEALS-ON-WHEELS FUNDS

Roanoke Valley senior citizens have begun a financial appeal for the League of Older Americans Area Agency on Aging's Meal-on-Wheels program.

Volunteers in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) are stuffing empty paper plates bearing the message, "Help Us Fill This Plate," to mail to households in the Roanoke Valley area.

The appeal is being conducted to help eliminate the LOA's growing waiting list of seniors who are doing without the hot lunch.

Ferrum College's Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre is accepting applications for eight internship positions.

The internships are geared toward high school students interested in acting, stage management, lighting, house management or directing. Interns will be full company members and will compete with professional actors for roles and crew responsibilities. Theater classes, tutorials and drama workshops will supplement performances.

Partial scholarships are available. For more information, call R. Rex Stephenson, theater director, at (703) 365-4335.
