OBIT-PETTIT, LYNNE DYER

PETTIT, Lynne Dyer, 82, of Pearisburg, died Thursday, April 29, 1993, in Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Mrs. Pettit was born on June 15, 1910, in McClure, Va., and was the daughter of the late Simpson L. and Bama Kelly Dyer. Mrs. Pettit was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg, Va., since 1973, a member of the Lydia Circle of the First United Methodist Women, a member of the Prayer & Share group, and a member of the Paris Charter #124 O.E.S. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Rudolph W. Pettit of Pearisburg; one son, Charles Dyer Pettit; three nieces, Margaret Dyer Henry of Kingsport, Tenn.; Betty North of Jacksonville, Fla., and Janice Joseph of Salem, Ohio; two nephews, Garland White Jr. of McClure, Va., and Lester Smith of Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 1, 1993 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg, Va., with Rev. Warren Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
