OBIT-QUESENBERRY, ROSS
QUESENBERRY, Ross, 83, of Independence, Va., passed away Thursday, April
29, 1993, at Twin County Community Hospital, Galax, Va. He was born October
23, 1909, in Carroll County, Va., the son of Ranza and Ida Robinson
Quesenberry. He was a retired textile worker, a veteran of World War II, U.S.
Army, a member of Saddle Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Independence, and
honorary member of Independence Volunteer Fire Dept. He served many years on
Town Council, Town of Independence, and operated Texaco Service Station in
Independence, for many years. He was a member of Grayson County V.F.W. Post
#7762. Surviving are his wife, Garlene Newman Quesenberry; a sister-in-law,
Rita Nichols, both of Indpendence; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon
Quesenberry and Donald Wilson, Pulaski, Marlia Jean Quesenberry and Bobby
Pegram, Winston-Salem, N.C.; two grandsons, Mark Dustin Wilson and Matthew
Ross Wilson, both of Pulaski; two brothers, W. W. Quesenberry, Galax, Glee
Quesenberry, Austinville; brother-in-law, Wayne Frost, Austinville; special
friend, John Anders, Independence. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday
at 2:30 p.m. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence with Elder
Curtis Hash officiating. Interment in Independence Cemetery. The body will
remain at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home where the family will receive friends
Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions
may be made to Independence Volunteer Fire Department. Military Rites will be
conducted at the graveside by Grayson County V.F.W. Post #7726.
