RICHMOND BRAVES WIN

Richmond relief pitchers struck out six of 12 batters Friday to hold back Norfolk and give the Braves a 4-3 International League victory.

Richmond starter Napoleon Robinson (2-2) held the Tides scoreless through the first six innings. In the seventh, pinch-hitter Tito Navarro had an RBI single and Doug Saunders a two-run double.

Pedro Borbon came in to pitch and struck out Eric Bullock and Jeromy Burnitz. When the Tides put two runners on in the eighth, Billy Taylor came in to strike out Steve Springer and end the rally. The Tides had runners at second and third with two outs in the ninth when Taylor struck out Brook Fordyce for his fourth save. - Associated Press
