Leonard struck out 12, walked three and hit one as the Cavaliers improved to 3-0 in the district, 11-1 overall. One of the hits he allowed was a bunt single. Kilbourne added a double and Phillips a single for Carroll County. Blacksburg dropped to 6-6, 2-1.

After seven losses to start the season, Radford finally gave coach Wayne Pridgen his 100th career win with a 7-4 victory over Christiansburg. Matt Plum had two hits, Hart Fowler scored two runs and Ryan Brittle pitched a complete game six-hitter for the Bobcats.
At Pearisburg, Mitch Reed pitched a one-hitter, striking out 10 in five innings as Giles swatted winless Rocky Gap 11-1 in a Mountian Empire District game. Glenn Stowers had two doubles and Danny Ratcliffe had a two-run single for the Spartans (7-4, 5-1).
At Hot Springs, Bath County scored four runs in the fifth inning on its way to a come-from-behind 10-8 Pioneer District win over Craig County. Kris Phillips had two doubles for the Chargers (5-2, 5-1). Craig County is 4-9, 2-6.
At Shawsville, pitcher Mike Hylton improved to 4-0 after Floyd's 7-4 Mountain Empire District win over Shawsville. Tosh Chantal went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Buffaloes (7-5, 3-2). Jason Booth homered for Shawsville (7-4, 2-3).
At Independence, Grayson County scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally past Narrows 10-8 in a Mountain Empire District game. Chad Shaffner went 3-for-4 for the Devils (6-5, 5-1). Mitch Hawks added two triples. For Narrows (8-3, 5-1), Mike Blankenship homered and Sean Harris had three hits.
At Cave Spring, Will Goodman had a home run and four RBI and Robey Caldwell picked up his third win in relief as the Knights took an 8-6 Roanoke Valley District win over Franklin County. Scott Fayed went 3-for-4 for Cave Spring (9-2, 7-0), who have won eight straight. For the Eagles (6-3, 4-2), David Perdue had two homers and four RBI, and Riley Hodges had two hits with a long ball.
At Naurna, Jeremiah Hunt pitched a two-hitter as Liberty downed Seminole District foe William Campbell 11-1. Keith Carter smacked a two-run homer, Curt Goff hit a homerun and Jerry Padgett had 3 RBI for the Minutemen (8-3). William Campbell is 4-7.
Jeremy Almanode went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and Patrick Henry committed a school-record 10 errors as Pulaski County defeated the Patriots 10-8 in the Roanoke Valley District. For PH (1-8, 1-4), Brad Wright had three hits, including two doubles and three RBI. The Cougars are 2-10, 2-6.
\ BOYS' SOCCER: At Bedford, Joey Coles scored two goals and Joel Allen had a goal and an assist as Liberty shut out Amherst 3-0 to improve to 6-1.
At Blacksburg, eight players scored as Blacksburg drilled Marion 8-0 and improved to 10-0.
\ SOFTBALL: At Rocky Mount, Shannon Smithson went 3-for-3 with a double and five RBI as Cave Spring stomped Franklin County 9-1 in a Roanoke Valley District game.
At Bedford, Nicole Shackleford drove in the winning runs with a second-inning hit as Liberty topped William Campbell 2-1. The Minettes are 7-3-1.
\ TRACK AND FIELD: At Christiansburg, Andra Beasley and Von Lewis had a hand in nine victories, helping the Christiansburg boys' track team to a first-place finish at the Blue Demons Relays. Teams scored points based on the combined performance of their top two athletes in each event.
Beasley and Lewis combined to win the long jump (39 feet) and triple jump (78 feet, 11 3/4 inches) for the Blue Demons. In addition, Beasley was on the winning 4x100 meter and 4x200 meter relay teams and combined with Scott Cummings for the shot put title (88-5). Lewis combined with teammates to win the high jump and shuttle intermediate hurdles.
Chrisitiansburg totaled 53 points for first place, followed by Giles (39), George Wythe (17) and Pulaski County (10). In the girls' competition, George Wythe took first with 44 points, followed by Christiansburg (42 1/2), Giles (26 1/2) and Pulaski County (14).
