OBIT STONER, JOHN BURTON JR.

STONER, John Burton Jr. 62, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, April 29, 1993, at the VA Medical Center, Salem, Va. He was a 1949 graduate of Natural Bridge High School, served as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Burlington after 42 years service. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Stoner Sr. and Ida Moran Stoner. Surviving are his wife, Racheal Stoner; two daughters, Paula Stoner of Glasgow, Penny Stoner Poindexter of Glade Hill; a son-in-law, Gary Poindexter of Glade Hill; one sister, Betty Stoner Hutchens of Charlottesville. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Barry Nall and the Rev. Bill Crites officiating. Interment will be at the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glasgow First Aid.
