STATE POLICE WERE TROUPERS IN THE STORM

Before we put to rest the blizzard of '93, I would like to pay tribute to the very fine state police working out of the Wytheville headquarters.

These troopers worked tirelessly on Interstates 81 and 77 to fight the battle of the snow. Of special note was the fine performance of the sergeant who worked the night shift on Monday, March 15.

But these troopers could not have prevailed without the splendid help of the women dispatchers working at the Wytheville headquarters during the blizzard.

We are indeed fortunate to have this fine police force in our state.\ Bettye H. Steger\ Pulaski
