OBIT COLLINS, ARTHUR
COLLINS, Arthur, 59, of 3301 Frontier Rd., N.W., Roanoke, died Friday,
April 30, 1993. He was past governor, Hollins Lodge #1707, Loyal Order of
Moose, a life member of Blue Ridge Legion and treasurer of the Moose #0082. He
received the Fellowship Degree, Loyal Order of Moose, and a life Fellowship
Degree of the Lodge in 1987. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He
was self employed, Arts Mobile Service, and an employee of Frito Lay. He was
predeceased by his father, Arthur D. Collins. Surviving are his wife,
Elizabeth (Jeri) Collins; two sons, Thomas Arthur Collins, Ridgeway, and John
Dean Collins, Roanoke; two daughters, Mitzi Ann Pyles, Fincastle, and Wendy
Arlene Sumpter, Roanoke; his mother, Mrs. Olga O. Collins, Collinsville; one
brother, Harvey Anderson Collins, Collinsville; two half brothers, A. C.
Collins, Lancaster, Va., and Lyle Collins, Inverness, Fla.; three sisters,
Alice Bowman, Bassett, Ruth Brown, Collinsville, Frances Armstrong, Ringold,
Va.; one half sister, Sarah Doggett, Greensboro, N.C.; nine grandchildren; one
great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North CHapel
1 p.m. Monday, May 3, 1993, with the Rev. Allen Rowbotham officiating. Burial
will be in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Oakey's North
Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday.
