AUTHORITIES PROBE N.E. ROANOKE FIRE

Fire officials are investigating a blaze that did $25,000 in damage to a brick home in Northeast Roanoke early Saturday.

District Fire Chief Garry Basham said no one was home when a patrolling police officer reported the fire in the 100 block of Lee Avenue Northeast at 3:37 a.m. Saturday. Basham said the fire began in the crawl space under the house and burned through to the attic.
