HOLLINS EQUESTRIANS TAKE NATIONAL TITLES

The Hollins riding team, paced by senior Parris Cozart, took first place at the National Intercollegiate Championships on Sunday at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio.

Cozart, from Abingdon, was the individual champion.

It was the first team national championship in the school's history, according to Linda Steele, director of college relations.

The top teams and individual riders from 17 regions competed in the championship, which comprises all college divisions.

The other members of Hollins' team are: sophomores Vicki Byrd and Leslie Silberman, and freshmen Sarah Hancock, Christina Hubbard, Paige Nuckols and Tracy Prillaman. - Staff report
