OBIT CROWDER, MABEL BURNETTE

CROWDER, Mabel Burnette, 94, of New Castle, died Sunday, May 2, 1993, at the home of a daughter. Mrs. Crowder was born October 2, 1898, and was a life long member of Hebron Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rush Burnell Crowder. Surviving are three daughters, Cordelia Almoney, York, Pa., Gladys Trivette and Phyllis Caldwell, both of New Castle; two sisters, Juanita Weymouth, Chesapeake, Ruth Dowdy, Huddleston; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Bill St.Clair at Boitnott Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, May 4, at 2 p.m. with interment in the Hebron Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 7 to 9. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Craig County Rescue Squad, New Castle Fire Department or Hebron Church.
