OBIT SMITH, FRANK DARRELL

SMITH, Frank Darrell, 59, of Hillsville, passed away Saturday, May 1, 1993, at Twin County Community Hospital. He was born May 17, 1933, at McDowell County, W. Va., to Thomas Frank Smith and Clara Mac Mitchell Smith. He was retired from the U. S. Navy with 21 years of service. He was an employee of the Woodlawn Post Office. He is survived by his wife, Mary Huff Smith; daughter, Mary Beth Smith, Ferrum; sons, Frank Smith Jr., Blacksburg, Steven Smith, Manassas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Rabon Jessup, Roanoke, Jo Lynn and Jesse Newman, Dugspur; one brother and sister-in-law, Don Gene and Sue Smith, Greensboro; mother, Clara Mac Smith. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1993, at the Island Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Layne Pennington officiating. Burial in the Jennings Cemetery. Military rites at the graveside by Hillsville V.F.W. Post #1115.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville, Va.
