OBIT SPENCER, OSCAR LIPSCOMB

SPENCER, Oscar Lipscomb, 85, of Blue Ridge, died Saturday, May 1, 1993, in a local hospital. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren. He was a woodcarver and a noted folk artist. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn McClure Spencer; daughters, Bernadine Buncke, Martha Wimmer, both of Blue Ridge; a sister, Pauline Hall, Florida; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 1 p.m. Monday, May 3, 1993, with the Rev. Matthew Fike officiating. Burial will be in Glade Creek Cemetery, Botetourt Co. The family suggests memorials be made to the Blue Ridge Life Saving Crew. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
