OBIT PAINTER, JESSE CLARENCE

Painter, Jessee Clarence, 92, of Natural Bridge Station, died Saturday, May 1, 1993, in the Stonewall Jackson E.C.F. Mr. Painter was born March 29, 1901, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Walter Gary Painter and Allie Parsons Painter He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Victoria Mayo Painter. Mr. Painter retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad in 1959 and later retired from the Natural Bridge Village. Surviving are three sons, Calvin Painter, Natural Bridge, Va., Samuel A. Painter, Natural Bridge, Va., Lester E. Painter, Lynchburg, Va.; two daughters, Edna Mae Painter, Natural Bridge Station, Va., Beulah F. McFadden, Glasgow, Va.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1993, at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Conald Fogus officiating. Burial will follow in tyhe Natural Bridge Baptiost Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
