OBIT FAINTER, JESSE CLARENCE

FAINTER, Jesse Clarence, 92, of Natural Bridge Station, died Saturday, May 1, 1993, in the Stonewall Jackson E.C.F. Mr. Fainter was born March 29, 1901, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Walter Gary Fainter and Allie Parsons Fainter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Victoria Mayo Fainter. Mr. Fainter retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad in 1959 and later retired from the Natural Bridge Village. Surviving are three sons, Calvin Fainter, Natural Bridge, Va., Samuel A. Fainter, Glasgow, Va., Lester, E. Fainter, Lynchburg, Va.; two daughters, Edna Mae Fainter, Natural Bridge Station, Va., Beulah F. McFadden, Glasgow, Va.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1993, at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Conald Fogus officiating. Burial will follow in the Natural Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
