OBIT NEIKIRK, ROBERT, ("VANCE")

NEIKIRK, Robert, ("Vance"), 71, of Salem, died Monday, May 3, 1993. He retired from N&W after 40 years of service as an engineer on the Radford division. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Collins Neikirk; daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Darrell Underwood, Roanoke; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Dreama Neikirk, Bill and Patti Neikirk, all of Salem; grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Migliarese, Chris and Andy Neikirk; brothers, T.P. Neikirk, New York, N.Y., J.G. Neikirk, Newport News; sisters, Alice N. Mondlak, Bradley N. White, both of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with Rev. Lew Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
