OBIT AKERS, GARY WAYNE

AKERS, Gary Wayne, 36, of Check, passed away Sunday, May 2, 1993 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Akers and a brother, Larry Nelson Akers. Survivors are his mother, Freeda Weeks Akers, Check; a brother, James Lee Akers, Christiansburg; grandmother, Bessie Akers, Floyd; and nephew, Larry Paul Akers, Check. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with Rev. J.C. Holden officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
