OBIT SEAGLE, FRANCES CRIST
SEAGLE, Frances Crist, 74, of Pulaski, died Monday, May 3, 1993, at her
home. Her residence was 628 Prospect Avenue in Pulaski. She was born April 12,
1919 in Winston-Salem, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Herbert H. Crist
and Margaret Smith Crist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas
Roswell Seagle Sr., and a sister. She served with the American Red Cross in
Europe during World War II, and continued to serve on the local level. She was
a member of the D. A. R. and past Regent, was a member and past president of
the Womans Club, was a member of the Thursday Club, was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church, and was active with the Daily Bread Program, and served
in many other capacities. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donald
"Margaret" Ratcliff, Pulaski; two sons, Thomas Roswell Seagle Jr., and John
Edward Seagle, both of Pulaski; two sisters, Mrs. David "Catherine" Holmes,
Wilmington, N.C., Mrs. Caroline Council, Greensboro, N.C.; one brother,
William R. Crist, Kernersville, N.C.; two grandsons, one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the First Presbyterian
Church with Rev. Richard Bethune officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood
Cemetery. Visiting will be Tuesday after 1 p.m. and the family will receive
friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
