SPELLING BEE AIDS LITERACY VOLUNTEERS

Several local companies and a couple of Virginia Tech organizations supported the most recent fund-raising event for Literacy Volunteers of America and Rotary Club by paying a $200 entry fee for a three-member team in an adult spelling bee.

Participating companies were Anderson and Associates, Electro-Tec, Federal Mogul, First National Bank of Christiansburg, Fisheries and Wildlife Graduate Student Association of Virginia Tech, Litton-Polyscientific, National Bank of Blacksburg, New River Community College, Roanoke Times & World-News New River Valley bureau, Rotary Club of Montgomery County, Mortgage Service America, University Libraries of Virginia Tech and Valley-Wide Management.

Valley-Wide was the winner.
