MAINTENANCE MAN HIT BY ROLLER COASTER DIES

A maintenance worker who was struck by a roller coaster at Busch Gardens over the weekend has died, authorities said.

George Brown, 63, of Williamsburg, died about 11 p.m. Monday at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Brown was struck about 4 p.m. Sunday by the Big Bad Wolf ride, said Keith Kasen, general manager of the Williamsburg park.

Brown had been employed for three years as a contract worker for ISS Maintenance, a company that checks rides, Kasen said. Theme park officials are trying to determine why Brown was hit and what work he was doing at the time, Kasen said.
