OBIT HOOVER, CATHERINE M.

HOOVER, Catherine M., 67, of Roanoke died Monday, May 3, 1993. She was an active member of Saint Elizabeth's Episcopal Church (where she was co-chair of the altar guild), a former x ray technician and a member of the United States Coast Quard Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Harold E. Hoover; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pam Hoover and Steve Watkins, Louisville, Ky., Diane Hoover of Roanoke, Carol Hoover and David Brittain, Salem; six grandchildren, Ben, Paul and Claire Watkins, Louisville, Ky., Aaron, Julia, and Leslie Brittain, Salem. A celebration of Catherine's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Saint Elizabeth's Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Drinard Smith and the Rev. Frederick E. Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Saint Elizabeth's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, (2339 Grandin Road S.W., Roanoke, VA 24015) or the American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, VA 24003-0554), or a favorite charity. The family will receive friends at Saint Elizabeth's Parrish Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
