OBIT SPENCER, ANNA GROSECLOSE

SPENCER, Anna Groseclose, 102, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, May 3, 1993. Mrs. Spencer was born December 10, 1890 and was a graduate of Daleville College, class of 1915. She was the widow of Paul W. Spencer, was a retired Roanoke City School Teacher. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane S. and Guy F. Cromer of Roanoke; one son, Howard R. Spencer of Fla.; five grandchildren including Garry C. Cromer and Ellen C. Rexrode of Roanoke; six great-grandchildren; a niece, Mrs. Lola H. Turner of Roanoke. A cryptside entombment service will be in Sherwood Memorial Park 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6 with the Rev. Bradford L. Phillips officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Salvation Army or a favorite charity. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
