Among 323 Democratic voters surveyed by Mason-Dixon Political-Media Research Inc., 43 percent said they support another term for Robb, while 35 percent favor Wilder.
Wilder is considering running against Robb, who was the target last year of a federal grand jury investigation into the illegal taping and public disclosure of a cellular telephone conversation between Wilder and a supporter. Robb was not indicted.
Sixty-one percent of the 282 Republican voters surveyed support North, the former Marine officer and Iran-Contra figure, as the GOP Senate nominee. Twelve percent named James C. Miller, the former Reagan administration budget chief.
However, North trails both Robb and Wilder in general election matchups.
In a three-way race, Robb has 33 percent to 28 percent each for Wilder and North.
The poll's margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.
