RELIGION BRIEFS

THE CHRISTIAN LOVE BAPTIST CHORUS of Washington will perform Sunday at 4 p.m. at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 506 15th St. N.W. The program is sponsored by the Stewardess Board.

\ "SING HIS PRAISE" will be presented May 16 by the Music Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church. Helen Robertson, minister of music, will direct the festival of hymns during the 11 a.m. service. Janice Humphreys is the organist. The church is at 608 Campbell Ave. S.W.

\ MAPLE STREET BAPTIST CHURCH, 902 Fairfax Ave. N.W., will hold a Ms. Maple Street contest Sunday at 5 p.m. The program will highlight the talents of the church's youth and is a fund-raiser for the building fund. An offering will be taken.

\ DELORES COLES will be honored as Mother of the Year Sunday at First Baptist Church, 310 North Jefferson St. N.W. Coles is a deaconess, and a member of the Bible Band, Missionary Society, The Celebration Choir and Senior Choir. She also has sung with the Valley Baptist Community and Roanoke Symphony Community choirs.

She and her husband, Herbert L. Coles Sr., have four children and 10 grandchildren.

\ THE NEW LIFE DRAMA CO., which has headquarters in Cleveland, Tenn., will present skits May 18 at 7 p.m. at New Life Temple.

The company, started in 1983 by David Woodrow, has performed throughout the United States, Canada, England and Central America. The skits range from dealing with daily life to major society issues.

\ AMANDA AIKMAN, a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke, has received the master of divinity degree from Starr King School for the ministry in Berkeley, Calif.
