OBIT SHIRES, GARNETT PEARL

SHIRES, Garnett Pearl, 93, of Buchanan, died Tuesday, May 4, 1993. She was formerly of Cloverdale, Va. She is survived by four sons, Willie Shires of Thomasville, N.C., Eugene Shires of Buchanan, JoDean Shires of West Columbia, S.C., Jesse Shires of Cloverdale; three daughters, Ann Linkenhoker, Elizabeth Flint and Emma Lee Roberts, all of Buchanan; one sister, Josie Campbell of Gap Mills, W.Va.; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 7, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the Rader Troutville Chapel with the Rev. Peter J. Leddy Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Daleville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Rader Funeral Home, Troutville, Va.
