NCAA EXPANDS WOMEN'S FIELD

The field for the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament will be expanded from 48 to 64 teams, the NCAA Executive Committee announced Thursday.

It also approved a proposal made by the Football Rules Committee to move the hash marks 6 feet, 8 inches closer to the center of the field, cutting down sharp angles on field goal attempts.
