WOLF TRAP PARK BANS SMOKING ON THE LAWN

Complaints and health concerns have prompted the National Park Service to ban smoking on the lawn during concerts at Wolf Trap Farm Park.

The Park Service has gotten "a number of years of complaints," from patrons about smoke, said Joe Lawler, director of Wolf Trap, the nation's only national park devoted to the performing arts.

The decision also was based on concerns over the health effects of secondhand smoke, Lawler said.
