MUSEUM SEEKS WELCOMING WORK

The Art Museum of Western Virginia and the Junior League of the Roanoke Valley are seeking proposals for a work of art to welcome visitors to the new children's art center at the museum.

The center, called Art Venture, will open in September.

The league will award an honorarium of $5,000 for the work that is selected.

Interested artists should call Mark Scala at 342-5760 to request a brochure or schedule a visit to the center.

The deadline for proposals is May 10.
