PEMBROKE MAN, 80, KILLED WHEN CAR HITS HIM

A Pembroke man was killed Wednesday after he was struck by a car in Pearisburg. Richard A. Caldwell, 80, was struck by a car driven by Bane Shelton of Pearisburg at about 1 p.m. on Main Street near the Giles Carpet Center; Shelton was not injured. An investigation continues and no charges had been filed Thursday.
